Content Marketing World 2013 and Skyword Signature “Rock”tails

Skyword’s Sponsors Opening Night Party at Content Marketing World 2013

Skyword has the pleasure of sponsoring the opening reception of Content Marketing World 2013, the largest gathering of content marketing professionals on the planet. Attendees from 35 countries have registered for the four-day event in the rock and roll capital of the world, Cleveland, Ohio.

This year’s event is poised to be bigger than ever. Brands attending include Motorola, Salesforce, KeyBank, and Capital One, and there’ll be speakers from IBM, LinkedIn, Coca-Cola, Forbes, Hershey’s, National Instruments, and SAP. You and your company can engage in Content Marketing World (CMW) conversations on Twitter before the event by using the hashtag #CMWorld.

Captain Kirk himself is getting in on the CMW action. William Shatner has vowed to explore the strange new world of content marketing, to seek out new technologies and new connections, and to boldly go where no member of the Starfleet crew has gone before by delivering the closing keynote on September 11th at 4:30 p.m. I can only hope that he wears his captain’s uniform or speaks in a dramatic tone with long, drawn-out pauses.

To help ensure Cleveland does in fact rock, the Skyword team has carefully crafted and tested four specialty cocktails to to kick off the event in style (special thanks to resident drink experts Dan Vela and Caleb Gonsalves). Last year’s opening reception was also sponsored by Skyword, when we debuted three signature drinks inspired by search, social, and digital content. This year, we decided to pay homage to rock and roll legends by creating drinks inspired by the party’s venue, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Whether you’re a Trekkie, a Klingon, a captain, or dressed head-to-toe in orange, these libations are sure to beam you up faster than Scotty:

Tequilin’ Me Softly
(tequila, orange juice, triple sec, sour mix)
You won’t catch any flack for trying this delicious drink inspired by Roberta’s timeless hit “Killing Me Softly With His Song.” You’ll never pray this drink will finish; you’ll want to keep right on.

Gin-is Joplin
(gin, lime juice, soda water)
Have another little sip of this drink now, baby. A classic drink for the 21 and over club, inspired by our favorite member of the 27 Club, Janis Joplin. You know you’ve got it, if it makes you feel good. Oh yes indeed.

All You Need is Rum
(rum, pineapple, grenadine, lime juice)
Rum, rum, rum. Influenced by the Beatles’ mega-hit “All You Need is Love,” this combination of ingredients will remind you that there’s nothing you can mix that can’t be mixed—all you need is rum.

Blue Suede Booze
(vodka, blue curacao, lemonade)
Don’t step on my Blue Suede Booze—sip on it. This refreshing drink, often impersonated but never duplicated, is sure to refresh. Warning: It might cause you to shake your hips like The King did on The Ed Sullivan Show.

Other “rock”tail considerations that didn’t quite make the cut: Like a Vir-Gin, Sippin’ on the Dock of the Bay, Jack(&Coke)son 5, Good Libations… among others.

Be sure to drop by the party to say hello to myself or another Skyword host (we’ll be dressed in Skyword bright blue) and to get free drink tickets so you can try all four cocktails. If you can’t wet your whistle at the party, stop by booth #31 to whet your appetite for high-quality content. We hope to see you at Content Marketing World 2013!
